TOWN OF DUBACH
REGULAR MEETING OF TOWN COUNCIL
The Town Council of Dubach, Louisiana met in Regular Session August 15, 2005 At 6:30 pm at
the Town Hall.
Present were Honorable Margaret Rogers, Mayor and Council members Mary Alice Billberry,
Vallie Carrico, Hattie Graham, Davie Powell, R. C. Sparks and Town Clerk Justina Hensley.
Absent: None
The Meeting opened with an Invocation by Mary Alice Billberry.
Motion by Davie Powell Seconded by Hattie Graham to approve Agenda as presented and
amended Motion passed.
Motion by R. C. Sparks Seconded by Vallie Carrico to approve the previous Minutes as read.
Motion carried
Bills for the month of August Were audited in the amount of $1,095.90.
Ron Riley with Riley Company of Louisiana discussed with council members the LCDBG Street
Grant increasing the Towns part of the grant in the amount of $2,078 for surveying costs.
Motion by Davie Powell Seconded by R. C. Sparks. Motion carries.
Motion by Mary Alice Billberry Seconded by Hattie Graham authorizing Mayor Rogers to sign
any and all documents on the LCDBG Street Grant. Motion passed.
Resolution to set minimum bid on the 1994 Chevrolet Caprice Police Car Vin #
1G1BL52PORR179861 was approved at $1,500.00. Motion by Mary Alice Billberry Seconded
by Vallie Carrico. Motion passed.
First Guaranty Bank requested authorized signatures on the LCDBG Street Grant Account
Number 8087 as follows: Sarah Cooper, Hubert Hayden, Justina Hensley, and Margaret Rogers.
Motion by R. C. Sparks Seconded by Hattie Graham. Motion carries.
Introduce Advalorem Tax Ordinance No. 287 - An Ordinance setting millage for all property in
Dubach. A Public Hearing was set for September 19, 2005 at 6:15 pm at Dubach Town Hall.
Motion by Davie Powell Seconded by Mary Alice Billberry. Motion passed.
Qualifying dates for election for Town Council members in Dubach is on Wednesday August 17,
Thursday August 18, and Friday August 19, 2005 at the Clerk of Courts in Ruston, Louisiana.
Fireworks Questionnaire was discussed. The Questionnaire was approved except for one
statement that will be added in and then it will be distributed to town council members.
Proclamation declaring the month of September as Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Myeloma
Awareness Month.
Temporarily have Thomas Byrnside to fill truck once a week while gasoline prices are high as
well as his truck allowance per week. Motion by R. C. Sparks Seconded by Davie Powell.
Motion carries.
Motion by Davie Powell Seconded by Mary Alice Billberry to approve Minutes. Motion
carried.
Motion by Hattie Graham To adjourn Seconded by R. C. Sparks. Motion carried.
